Ansel Adams, was born in February of 1902. Today, considered as one of the most famous, if not the most famous American photographer. Ansel Adams grew up in San Francisco, California near the Brooklyn Bridge. As a young child Ansel broke his nose that marked him for life.
Ansel played the piano as a young child filling the void for not succeeding in public schooling. Due to his Funny nose and dyslexia Adams became home schooled. His first visualized photo, monolith, the Face of Half Dome was created in 1927.
Over the years Adams was not only a photographer, but loved the environment. His main Environment focuses were Yosemite national park, the national park system, and most importantly the preservation of wilderness. He fought for many areas, including Alaska, all the way down to the Redwood forest in California.
From 1902 to the day he died in 1984 Ansel Adams accomplished great things for the wilderness and music community, and most famously the photography community. His work will be cherished and remembered for years to come.
I like this photo because it shows such great contrast with the black and white between the mountains, forest and river.
